The significance aspect of this equation deals with the amount of times those keywords appear throught the page, and whether the content supports the use of the keywords. The other side of the equation is the popularity of the website. Major search engines believe that humans will naturally gravitate to higher quality websites and refer to them often. When another website links to yours, it is called a backlink and this favorable in the eyes of Google.
These steps below will make your website both significant and popular. It still amazes me how easy it is as long as you have the right guidance and tools. When it comes to this stuff, education is gold. I encourage you to click around the internet and just be inquisitive. What are other people doing to be successful?
Step #1 Profiles
Okay, first we need to start creating personal profiles for social networking and bookmarking websites. There are two great FREE tools you can use which will help you with some automation. Posting your website on these sites looks highly favorable to Google as it appears the general online community thinks your site is worth talking about. Search engines don’t know you’re the one talking about it – only simply that it is being talked about.
We are going to first create the profiles, then do the posting, it will take some time initially to set these up. Make sure to post a picture and fill in some minimal detail. Most of these sites will allow you to display your homepage which counts as an additional link to your page. Even if it doesn’t have a place for you a homepage, find someway to get you link on your profile. (Hint: always type your URL’s like this: http://www.website.com, do not forget the http://) There is at least usually an “About Me” section you can squeeze it into. Another thing to make sure of is that your profile is public. Some sites like Facebook give you the option to keep your profile private to you friends. We want to let everyone see our links, including Google. BTW, use the same username, email, and password for every profile, you will be actively working these individually and want to be able to log back in.
There are two websites that will make this process much easier for you. The first site - Ping.fm will allow you to submit your link and/or message over 40 social networking sites like facebook, twitter, myspace, etc. with one click of a button. The other, Socialmarker.com is a great tool for publishing and posting content onto social bookmarking websites like digg, redit, del.ico.us. Socialmarket lets you also attach keywords/tags to your posts which helps target other keywords and phrases. Both these tools together will enable you to post your link to around 80-100 websites in the matter of 15 minutes.
Bookmarking Demon is another option for managing your social bookmarking and networking profiles. This is a great program that will save you even more time and multiply the amount of traffic from high search-engine rankings as well as from your social networking efforts. Step #2 Titles, Descriptions, Tags
When creating bookmarks, content, videos, anything, there are three very important components:
Title
This is the most important because this is what is going to come up in the search results. It is important to put some thought into this and do some research. There are many free tools that will make this much easier. First check out Google Keyword Analyzer, as it might be the only one you need. With this you can enter in a key term and it will give you many, many suggestions with the amount of searches on Google for that particular term. You can also enter a website and it will pull keywords off of it. This is a good feature because these keywords will be the easiest for you to rank well with.
There is another set of tools that will give you much more detail when researching keywords. Maverick Money Makers has several great programs that allow you to find high traffic keywords, research uncompetitive search terms, spy on competitors, and more. Again, you can get by without it but if you serious about taking this to the next level and creating an enterprise of first page sites, you need this. The sooner you do, the sooner the paychecks. Regarding the title, Keywords are essential. You should create your title around the main concept of what you’re trying to target. For example, if you are trying to sell a work at home service or product, your title would start off with: “Work From Home, Make Money From Home”. These are main search terms people use when searching for these types of programs. Next we want to add a little specificity to our title. Here we use our Google Keyword tool and search for high traffic related keywords. Along with the first part of our title we would add something like online, business, opportunity, job, etc., the more the better. By doing this we are also accommodating more specific search terms like “Work From Home…Online, business, opportunity” and any other keyword combo. The more specific, the easier it is to rank well.
Description
There are a couple important things about the description. First you want it to be well written and enticing for someone to click on. Try not to be too promotional but keep it simple. Keeping it basic will force the reader to click the link for more information. It is extremely important to include the words in your title three times somewhere in your description. Along with these keywords, make sure to put your site address in http:// form.
Keywords and Tags
It may seem redundant but it is important, include all words used in title and description in the keyword section and you tags. Still keep it simple and only list about 5-6 general terms. Keywords must be displayed a certain way. Keywords separated by commas and multiple word phrases must be grouped with “quotation marks.” With our example, our keywords would look like this: {“Work From Home”, “Make Money From Home”, Online, Business,
The sites listed on Ping.fm and Socialmarker.com are only a fraction of the Web 2.0 websites on the internet. This will allow users to marl your website as useful and create their own bookmark of your site. STEP #3 Videos
The first two steps will dramatically impact the ranking of your site across all search terms. Depending on what you’re promoting, having a videos will skyrocket your traffic overnight and is actually quite easy to do. Another thing about videos is they are 10 times more likely to be bookmarked or reposted by other users. We are setting the bait for other users to view and share our link with the world…for free!
The importance of a strong title, content, and tags are equally essential for videos too. The difference between bookmarks and videos is that good videos show up on the first page minutes after your submit it. You can obtain videos from many sources as YouTube.com or create them yourself with software like Easy Web Video. Obviously videos you create yourself are going to give you a much higher return because they are unique and unseen before. Remember when submitting them to video sharing websites, use the same criteria from the previous steps.
After you have created the video and submitted it, go back and post a bookmark for them on all of your social networking and bookmaking websites with your free tools or Bookmarking Demon. These videos are powerful, they appear on the first page and spread like wild fire. There is a list of video sharing websites in the appendix. Remember to add the link to your website in every video’s description and make sure you are linking to the video on you social networking pages.
Step #5 Traffic
The other component of link popularity is the actual amount of clicks your link receives. After a little while, your website will be getting more traffic than you can imagine but until then we need to be creative on how to generate this traffic artificially. We can sit at our computer and keep hitting the refresh button but that would take awhile and eventually Google would pick up on that. Try searching for ways to generate traffic as there are many ways to achieve this.
A great site I use to easily generate real traffic is adf.ly. Here I can get about 10,000 visitors to my website for only $12.00. This is usually all I will need before my site is appearing on the first page. It is super easy to sign up and the traffic comes from all around the world making it look as authentic as can be! Do this for your website, videos and articles. This will act as a catalyst for your earnings.
